About Us
The Pansy Club was founded in 2024 by briar maverick to fulfill their dream of making horticulture a more queer and trans inclusive industry. He started in the field in 2018 working at a predominately queer and trans residential gardening company, and that experience inspired him to enroll in a horticulture certificate program and pursue public horticulture as a career. They became a Pennsylvania Certified Horticulturist and started at Haverford College Arboretum in 2023, but missed the community of their first job. Inspired by organizations such as Women in Horticulture and the Queer Plant Convergence in New England, briar launched the Pansy Club to build community with other LGBTQ+ horticulture professionals and support those entering the industry.
